Guardian ad Litem — The Guardian ad Litem program is accepting applications for volunteer court advocates at the Guardian ad Litem office, room M033, in the Vance County courthouse.

Public Services Board — Meets at 4:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 222 Young Street, Henderson.

Crime Prevention Council — The Vance County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council meets at 8:30 a.m. at the Aycock Recreation Center, 307 Carey Chapel Road, Henderson; the Vance Gang Awareness Partnership will give a presentation at the meeting and will meet afterward.

FRIDAY

Weight loss group — TOWN (Take Off Weight Now), a non-profit weight loss group, meets at 11:30 a.m. at Aycock Recreation Center.

Christmas social — The Vance Senior High School Class of 1986 will hold a Christmas social and donation drive at 8 p.m. at Mahogany Restaurant and Pub, 130 West Montgomery Street, Henderson; for more information, contact Sheri Walters at (252) 425-3741.

Tots-N-More — Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at Tots-N-More Consignment Boutique from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.; children will have a chance to sit on Santa’s lap and take a free photo; letters will be accepted; letters are available to print at tots-n-more.com or attendees may provide their own.

Toys for Tots — Toys for Tots toy distribution from 10 a.m. to noon at the Oxford Housing Authority Training Center, 602 Raleigh Street, Oxford; registered parents or guardians must bring identification to pick up toys; distribution in Henderson will be at Garnes and Toney Funeral Home from 5 to 6 p.m.
