Weight loss group — TOWN ( Take Off Weight Now ), a nonprofit weight loss group, meets at 11:30 a.m. at Aycock Recreation Center.

Sale for Autism— A garage and bake sale for autism will begin at 8 a.m. at 943 W. Andrews Ave., in the Crossroads Shopping Center; all proceeds will be donated to the Autism Society of North Carolina.

TRIAD — The TRIAD Chapter meets at 11 a.m. at the Henderson Institute Historical Museum on Rock Spring Street; officers will be nominated and installed; any member in good standing can be nominated for office at the meeting.

 

MONDAY

DAV — Chapter 97 of Disabled American Veterans, consisting of Vance, Granville, Warren and Franklin counties, meets at 6 p.m. on the second Monday of every month at the Vance County Senior Center, 126 S. Garnett Street; all members are encouraged to attend.

Beekeepers Association — The Kerr-Tar Beekeepers Association meets at 7 p.m. at the Vance County Cooperative Extension Office, 305 Young Street, Henderson; the meeting is open to the public.

Thornton Library — Dr. Gerald Prokopowicz will present a program at 1:30 p.m. at Thornton Library entitled “Who Freed Who?”; the lecture will be based on his book, “Did Lincoln Own Slaves? and Other Frequently Asked Questions about Abraham Lincoln.”
