Henderson 17-year-old facing first degree murder charge
Kyshaun Norrell, a 17-year-old from Henderson, has been arrested and charged with first degree murder in the Sunday shooting death of Quincey Gregory.
Marcus Barrow, chief of the Henderson Police Department, confirmed the arrest and Gregory’s death in a statement Wednesday evening.
Norrell, a 17-year-old with residence listed at 640 Ransom Street, was taken into custody without incident. He also faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, two counts of discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle, discharging a firearm on educational property and discharging a firearm in the city limits.
Norrell was jailed in Vance County without bond and has an appearance in Vance County District Court on Sept. 8.
Gregory was taken to Maria Parham Medical Center Sunday afternoon following a shooting that left two people injured. The incident happened in the 600 block of West Rockspring Street in the city.
Gregory was transferred from Maria Parham to Duke Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. He died Wednesday morning.
Gregory was a 29-year-old with an address of 426 Ford Street in Henderson.
The other injured shooting victim from the incident was Amil Davis, a 33-year-old listing an 801 Water Street address. Davis was treated for his injuries and released.
